The hotel's decor was absolutely charming and reminded me of a bygone era. The beautiful interior and exterior of the hotel made me feel like I was staying in a grand old mansion. The general areas were spacious and easy to navigate, perfect for senior people like myself. The hotel was also conveniently located, with a pleasant walk from the main station through the city center to the hotel.

I would have asked for more assistance from the children working there.

The room was absolutely stunning! I fell in love with the free-standing bathtub and the large shower. The walls showed off the original brickwork of the tower, which added a charming touch. As a vegetarian, I appreciated the comfortable armchairs where I could relax after exploring Recklinghausen.

Personally, I wasn't a fan of the minibar in the Classic category rooms. But hey, that's just my preference.

The gym was impressive, and the hotel was impeccably clean. The electric car charging availability was a great bonus. The hotel's surroundings, including the 800-year-old city wall, were beautiful. The restaurant, although a bit pricey, was great, and there were plenty of other dining options nearby. The workout room and sauna were enjoyable. The former cloister had a gorgeous entry, bar, and lobby. The room itself was attractive with a modern bathroom and comfortable bed. The outdoor dining area was lovely, and the breakfast buffet was fantastic. The staff were pleasant, and the price was reasonable.

The wellness area is a bit outdated and could use noticeably more modernity and attention. For us the wellness area was one of the reasons for booking. Unfortunately, this one gives the impression that it is 20-30 years old.

This hotel is a great place to stay in the heart of a charming old town. The room was spacious and well equipped with a lovely view of the garden. The breakfast was excellent and the staff incredibly friendly, delivering any requests with a smile. On a warm day, guests can sit outside by the fountain enjoying the atmosphere just off the main shopping area.

Enjoyed my Xmas stay with great breakfast choices and friendly staff. The location was perfect, just off the main shopping area and close to many restaurants. The large and stylish room had comfortable seating and desk area. The well-equipped gym was very relaxing with colorful lights.

The parking situation was not ideal, as there was minimal parking out front. We had to park in a nearby garage and pay an extra fee.

During my recent stay at Parkhotel Engelsburg, I was incredibly impressed with the level of service and attention to detail. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that my needs were met, especially when I needed assistance with my baby. The hotel's location is also fantastic, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The wellness area was a great bonus, offering a relaxing experience. The rooms were impeccably clean and provided a quiet and comfortable space for me to unwind.

Although I have to mention that the breakfast was slightly overpriced and there were small additional charges for water in the room, I still believe that Parkhotel Engelsburg provided exceptional value for the overall experience. Despite these minor drawbacks, I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay.
